ISTE

Christine comes from Auckland, New Zealand and has had 25 years experience in education, working at all levels across K-12, in teacher education and as an ICT adviser to schools. This includes three years teaching in Brunei Darussalam.

Her serious and long-standing interest in the potential of educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning in cross-curriculum contexts, developed as a teacher of mathematics. She believes that digital literacy and life long learning skills are essential requirements for successful participation in a 21st century society and views the ready availability of the Internet as a key to removing limits on the time and place of learning.

During her 15 years as a member of Auckland Computers in Education Society, Christine has held several different offices. ACES survived the demise of its parent organization, New Zealand Computers in Education and turned to ISTE for support, becoming an organizational affiliate. The benefits gained from this association have strengthened her belief in the importance of collaboration between professional organizations.

She looks forward to being able to work for improved services for the International membership of ISTE including non-US organizational affiliates, individual educators from other countries and teachers in both US and other International schools.
