Classroom teachers Mali Bickley and Jim Carleton have used global collaboration projects to improve their students' critical thinking skills and to engage their students with peers around the world. In the next ISTE webinar, they will provide examples and artifacts to show educators how to use and incorporate global collaboration projects in their classrooms.

ISTE welcomes two new organizations into its Affiliate Network: the India Council for Integral Education (ICIE); and the Capitol Region Society for Technology in Education (CRSTE) in Washington D.C. A new endeavor connected to the Sri Aurobindo Society of India, ICIE and its leaders are developing training activities and collaborations throughout India. CRSTE is a newly formed regional organization that promotes collaboration among existing ISTE affiliates and local educational entities and engages nearby states and districts that are not served by an ISTE affiliate. ICIE and CRSTE join 80 other ISTE affiliates around the globe.

ISTE CEO Don Knezek spoke to a gathering of 1,200 educators and officials in Mexico City recently. Universidad Panamericana and Cedros School organized the congress. Knezek's keynote focused on "New Skills, New Tools, New Schools: A Global Perspective on Digital-Age Learning."

Called the "League of Scientists," the game was soft-launched with game maker Tabula Digita's at ISTE's 30th annual National Educational Computing Conference (NECC) on July 1.
