Open Text (FirstClass) and E-rate Funding
E-Rate is a US federal initiative to support the national technology goals of providing equal access for all students. The E-Rate focus ensures that instructional environments in schools and libraries are infused with affordable “advanced technology”. This infrastructure includes training, Internet access and educational software. E-Rate is the discount that is administered through the Universal Service Fund and eligible schools and libraries can receive discounts between 20 and 90 percent on telecommunication services, Internet access and the necessary connectivity to deliver technology to the classroom The FirstClass Division of Open Text partners with schools and libraries by providing assistance and resources to help them successfully apply and secure funds through the federal E-Rate program for the use of the Open Text (FirstClass) product suite.
