Extend your learning communities.  Join ISTE's Special Interest Group Program.

SIG membership offers a great way to increase your knowledge base and connect with international colleagues who are focused on a particular aspect of the dynamic field of educational technology.
 
Membership in an ISTE SIG is also an investment in career development, providing:

• Year-round professional development opportunities -- from book studies to podcasts to webinars;
• Knowledge-sharing listserves that extend your learning community across time and place;
• Online and print venues for sharing research, expertise, and best practices;
• Face-to-face meetings and conferences with materials focused on enhancing your professional skills;
• Awards and recognition for outstanding contributions to the field; and
• Special leadership opportunities at NECC and within ISTE governance.
   

ISTE has twenty Special Interest Groups, focused on roles and topics in the ed tech field.  These include:

SIG Newsletter:  Published bimonthly, SIG News updates members on the latest activities of the Special Interest Group Program. 

SIG Projects & Archives:  SIGs provide year-round professional development opportunities to their members.  Announcements about upcoming events and links to archives are available here.

SIG Wikis, Listserves, and Ning:  Each SIG has its own listserve as well as its own wiki.  The latter houses resources about their topic or role and providing a space for collaborative resource-sharing.  SIGs also have groups on ISTE's Community Ning.  Join these sites to participate in the discussion!
