Kate Kemker—State technology director representative

Kate Kemker

Kate Kemker is the Director of Technology and Learning Innovation for the Florida Department of Education. Kate is a life-long educator who works to ensure the utilization of technology as a tool that can level the learning field and enrich all students' lives. Kate completed her doctorate at the University of South Florida in the area of Curriculum and Instruction, in which she examined Florida's elementary students access to technology in high and low socioeconomic schools. She also received her Masters in Education Degree for Instructional Technology and Bachelor’s Degree for Music Education from the University of South Florida. She has presented and conducted workshops at various state and national conferences, such as the Florida Educational Technology Conference, the Annual Conference of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and the National Educational Computing Conference. In addition, she has published articles, chapters, and websites on the utilization of technology as tool for teaching and learning.
