Affiliates are invited to recognize outstanding educators in your area with ISTE’s Making it Happen Award. This is an internationally recognized awards program for educators in the field of educational technology integration in K–12 schools. The program identifies and rewards educational technology leaders around the world for their commitment and innovation.
How Does It Work? Your organization selects individual(s) to win this award based on the award criteria. Then plan to host an event honoring the winner(s). ISTE will provide the infamous MIH pink (or black) jackets and plaques that you will present to your winner(s). All winners are honored at the upcoming NECC. Read all about the criteria for this award and how to participate here.

ISTE’s Conference Co-Marketing Program
The co-marketing program is a great opportunity to allow ISTE to promote your organization to potential members in your area, and offers you discounts and promotional opportunities exclusive to co-marketers. In exchange, ISTE will provide your organization with several ways you can promote ISTE and all its valuable resources to your members. Most of the program focuses on your conference and NECC, however there is value even beyond that. Even if not many of your members might be attending NECC or your conference has already occurred, you should consider participating to take advantage of many other promotional benefits.
Benefits to your organization include:
- Extended NECC registration discount for all your members
- One complimentary registration for every 15 of your members who sign up as full
- conference registrants.
- One 8' x 10' booth in the NECC Partner booth area, in a high-traffic, high-visibility public
- area within the convention center.
- Complimentary meeting space for your business meetings or reception at one of the conference headquarters hotels
- Housing block for your attendees
- VIP seating for up to three representatives from your organization at each Keynote session.
- NECC registrant direct mailing lists for your state; one preconference and
- one postconference.
- One e-mail message to NECC registrants within your state sent by us on your behalf.
- Final Program and NECC Web site listing of your NECC activities.
There is still time to sign up if you haven’t done so already. Contact Susan Larson, and see the wiki (of course) for more info.
Co-marketing partner AETA took advantage of many of ISTE’s resources by offering four ISTE “Best of the Best Workshops,” hosting a successful ETAN booth, selling NETS books, and having ISTE CEO Don Knezek as the opening keynote. While he was there, Don was able to connect with presenters, AETA leaders, exhibitors, educators and the state’s Department of Education representatives. Don reported “it was an exciting, high-energy professional development and networking event. AETA is to be congratulated!”
