1.

The drive is open to active ISTE Members in good standing. Employees of ISTE and members of their immediate families and households are not eligible. In order to be eligible to receive prizes earned, the referring member must be an active ISTE Member at the time the drive ends (February 28, 2009).

To receive credit for each new member, a referrer must use the ISTE referral form, and the referrer's code (to be auto-generated by the referral form) must accompany the completed member application.

Note: A member will not be credited for referrals made after the new member joins, or made by means other than using the e-mail referral form.

A new member is officially credited to the referrer when the candidate is accepted for membership and dues have been received.

All applications and membership dues must be received by February 28, 2009 to be counted towards the ISTE Recruit-A-Member Drive.

ISTE will issue points to each referrer for every new member the referrer recruits. Points are accumulated as follows: 3 points for each new premium member, 2 points for each new standard member, and 1 point for each new student/international online or retired educator member.

Grand Prize: The top recruiters will be entered into a Grand Prize drawing valued at $400 (see the Prizes Page for more information). Each participant will be entered into the drawing exactly as many times as points they acquire. For example, if a member recruits 2 Premium members and therefore acquires 6 points, his/her name will be entered into the raffle 6 times.

Quarterly Prizes and Raffles: Two prizes will be awarded each quarter: a. a randomly drawn raffle of all members who have joined that quarter via a referral, and b. a prize awarding the referrer of the new member who was randomly chosen for prize a. A minimum of 25 participating members is required in order to hold the raffle.

Quarterly date ranges are as follows:

Quarter 1: March 1–May 31, 2008
Quarter 2: June 1–August 31, 2008
Quarter 3: September 1–November 30, 2008
Quarter 4: December 1–February 28, 2009

In the event that a new member has been referred by more than one referrer, prize eligibility will be assigned only once, to the referrer associated with the specific path used to join by the new member.

Contest rules and gifts are subject to change without notice. By entering the ISTE Recruit-A-Member Drive, members agree that ISTE’s decisions are final and not open to challenge.

All US and non-US international, national, federal, state, and local laws apply. Void where prohibited. ISTE reserves the right to change or substitute the gifts offered, including ISTE Membership renewal(s) or ISTE services in lieu of prizes offered if deemed necessary by ISTE. No substitution or transfer of prize permitted, except by ISTE, who reserves the right to award a prize of equal or greater value if advertised prize is unavailable. Taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner. If a winner cannot or will not accept a prize, then prize will be forfeited and/or awarded to an alternate winner. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for ISTE to use winner’s name and likeness for advertising, promotional, and other purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. By entering, participants release and hold harmless ISTE, its affiliates, directors, officers, prize suppliers, employees and agents, from any injuries, loss, damage or liability of any kind arising from or in connection with this Drive or acceptance or use of any prize won.
