Kathleen
SchrockAt-Large Representative
Kathleen Beck Schrock is the Administrator for Technology for
the Nauset
Public Schools on Cape Cod, MA. A large part of her job is
involved with
infusing technology throughout the curriculum in all areas and
at all
grade levels. Previously a library media specialist, she is very
interested
in search strategies, evaluation of Internet information,
copyright issues,
handheld computers and gadgets, and the use of technology as a
tool to
support instruction. She received her BS in Elementary Education
from
Rutgers College (NJ) and her MLS in School Library Media from
Rutgers
Graduate School of Communication, Information, and Libray
Studies.
Kathy has been an avid user of the Internet since November of
1993. She
continues to investigate daily and add links to her Web site,
started
in 1995, Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators

She has authored many articles and several books dealing with
technology
and education, information fluency, Web page design, and
critical evaluation
of Web information.
Kathy's recognitions include a Massachusetts Technology
Pathfinder Award,
an Above and Beyond Award awarded by the governor of
Massachusetts, being
named as one of the "Impact 30" technology leaders by
eSchool
News, receiving a STAR Award from Classroom Connect, serving on
a US DOE
Educational Technology Advisory Board, and winning a People's
Choice Webby
Award for her site. Kathy has also appeared on NBC's The Today
Show in
an segment dealing with the integral role technology plays in
home-school
communication.
