Joyce Pittman—At-Large Representative
Dr. Joyce Pittman is a professor of Educational Technology in the College of Arts & Sciences, Abu Dhabi University (ADU) in the United Arab Emirates. In addition, she is the ADU Faculty Development Project Leader for Online Learning and Innovative Instructional Technologies and consultant/researcher on the UAE Educational Technology Reform Initiative. She earned her Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Technology from Iowa State University of Science and Technology. Dr. Pittman is formerly a USA professor and PT3 Professional Development Project Director for the U.S. Department of Education. She also served as the Lead Mentor and co-founder of a doctoral program in Education and Knowledge Technologies for a large mid-western university in the USA.
Dr. Pittman is the recipient of many national and international honors and awards for her research and teaching including appointment to the ISTE International Committee, ISTE Making IT Happen Award 2005, Digital Leadership Caucus Chair 2005, 2005 AACE National Digital Equity Award College and University Research Scholarly Award for her research contributing to the field of Ed Media. She is an active member/co-founder of the 2001 National Digital Equity Task Force, which was supported by the U.S. Department of Education, a Member of the National Commission on the Future of Teacher Education and Technology (Association of Teacher Educators), American Educational Research Association and other professional organizations. She has written numerous publications include book chapters, journal and electronic publications.
