Kara Gann—School District Administration Representative

Kara Gann has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration. She holds educational certificates in K–8 Elementary Education and K–12 school principal. She is International Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) V3 Training and Foundation certified. ITIL is a customizable framework of best practices designed to promote quality computing services in technology. She has completed the McGrath SUCCEED With Supervision, Evaluation, & Leadership program, DBI’s Interaction Management Essentials program, and Facilitative Leadership for School Administrators.
Currently, Ms. Gann is the Information Technology Program Administrator for Laramie County School District #1 in Cheyenne, Wyoming and has been in this role since 2003. While in this position she has spent the past 5 years embedding the NETS-S into curricular content areas and embedding NETS-S assessments and reporting in grades K–8. She was a member of the design team for LCSD#1’s "21st Century Classroom." Prior to joining Laramie County School District #1, Kara was an Instructional Technologist in Mansfield, Texas. While in this position she received an Educational Foundation Innovative Teaching grant, was the recipient of Electronic Data Systems (EDS) Creative Instructional Application Technology grant and a member of the original pilot for the Texas Technology Competency Certification program. She has also completed 15 years of classroom teaching in both Odessa and Mansfield Texas.
Kara has served ISTE members working with national officials on NCLB revisions. She has represented ISTE in Washington D.C. She was a member of the NECC 2008 review team and has worked with ISTE staff on various projects. Kara has presented at local, state, and national conferences.
