Sandra Zuniga, ed.d.—Teacher Education Representative

Dr. Sandra Zuniga earned a Bachelor of Science degree and elementary teaching certification from Angelo State University. She obtained secondary teaching certification, counseling certification, and a Master of Education degree from Sul Ross State University, Rio Grande College. Her doctoral work was completed in the Joint University Doctoral Program of Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi and Texas A&M University, Kingsville. Upon completion, she was awarded school principal certification and the Doctor of Education degree in educational leadership.
Dr. Zuniga began her teaching career in 1990 at the San Felipe-Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District, teaching at the elementary and middle school levels. A move to pursue post-graduate studies in 1998 gave her the opportunity to serve the Corpus Christi Independent School District as a Title I Instructional Technology Advisor.
After completing doctoral studies, she was invited to become part of the graduate teaching faculty at Texas A&M University, Kingsville. She served as an adjunct faculty member in instructional technology for the department of education from 2002 to 2004.
Currently Dr. Zuniga, Assistant Professor, serves as Coordinator of the Master Technology Teacher online program. She is responsible for teaching children’s literature, educational explorations, and instructional technology to pre-service teachers at the undergraduate level and online technology leadership courses to in-service teachers at the graduate level.
