Experience:
I have a BS degree in Elementary Education plus 45 hrs toward an art education degree from Appalachian State University. I also hold a master’s degree in School Administration and Supervision from UNC–CH. I received an Ed.D. in Instructional Technology from North Carolina State University in 1990. I have worked as an educator in public and independent schools for over 25 years as a teacher, computer coordinator, reading specialist and Technology Director. For four years I worked as the Associate Director for Technology for the Center for Literacy and Disability Studies where I specifically dealt with assistive technology for people with severe speech and physical disabilities.

I worked as a Director of Technology in two school/district settings in which I provided staff development in multimedia and other instructional technologies. I am presently an assistant professor at NCSU in Instructional Technology where I teach a course in multimedia in K–12 education for graduate students. I have been a judge in the Multimedia Mania contest for several years.

I have worked at another local university (NCCU) to design and implement their Instructional Technology program. I was the coordinator of the Instructional Technology program there for a year as well as the Director of the PT3 project at that university. I would like to continue the tradition of great organization for the Multimedia Mania contest and after experiencing the process from the perspective of co-chair, would like to continue to improve upon the process.
