Administrators SIG
SIGAdmin supports principals and others in leadership positions by promoting the use of instructional technologies to increase student learning. Together we explore the factors that effect a positive learning return on technology investment. Members discuss and contribute best practices, participate in online events, and share online articles and other timely information.
Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year with SIGAdmin!
We are almost to a new year and wanted to update you on the ongoing and upcoming activities of the SIGAdmin group. I hope you have the opportunity to join in the conversation as we discuss relevant articles on the SIGAdmin Wiki. The more feedback we get the more interesting the discussion becomes. We are gearing up for our book study which will start in January. I have the book on its way to me as I work on this message. I am looking forward to reading Leading 21st Century Schools by Lynne Schrum and Barbara Levin. The schedule for the study will be posted and it will culminate in a webinar in which we will have the opportunity to question the authors.
The forum for this year's ISTE Conference is being designed and will explore both Second Life and the implementation of the ISTE Administrator Standards. Plan on attending! You will also want to attend the SIGAdmin area of the SIG Poster Session at the conference to find out what has been going on during the year and to help the group look to the future.
As we look to the future, if you are interested in running for office for the group, all three offices are open. We hope you will consider giving your time to support the group’s activities and interests. Information about this will be out shortly. I particularly want to thank the at-large representatives for their help this year as the more people we have involved the better the ideas.
Have a wonderful holiday and don’t forget to start reading that book!
