SIGTE 2005 Research Paper Award
First-place winners for the 2005 SIGTE Research Paper Award were
Vivian Wright and Elizabeth Wilson from the University of
Alabama. Their winning paper was entitled, "From Preservice to
Inservice Teaching: A Study of Technology Integration." Their
longitudinal study examined technology integration during preservice to
inservice teaching, specifically use of technology skills and methods
acquired during electronic portfolio development.
The authors were recognized at the annual ISTE Business Meeting as
well as at the ISTE Awards Gala. The paper was presented in a specially
designated one-hour research paper session.
Dale Niederhauser of Iowa State University chaired the Research
Paper Award Committee for 2004–2005. Dr. Colleen Swain of the
University of Florida will serve as the chair for 2005–2006.
SIGTE welcomes member involvement on the review committee, both for
reviewing research paper proposals in the fall and for the paper award
in the spring.
