ISTE’s Second LifeTM Island Grand Opening

ImageSeptember 17 began the first day in what will be a month-long celebration of the Grand Opening of ISTE’s very own island in Second Life. Scheduled and informal events include special socials every Thursday night, a 4 week scavenger hunt throughout the island, special classes for Second Lifers of all ages, and an awards banquet. ISTE’s volunteer docents have been hard at work getting the island ready and preparing these events, so be sure to come by and join in on the fun.

ISTE’s Island features a brand new headquarters building, as well as an auditorium, band shell, campfire area, treehouses, and many other formal and informal meeting areas. The Special Interest Group Pavilion provides a place for SIG members to meet in a virtual setting. SIG members are invited and encouraged to hold virtual meetings. Following a meeting your group might want to relax at the Faculty Lounge and Cafe or take surfing lessons at ISTE's beach. There are even hang-gliders for those most adventurous avatars.

Join us on ISTE Island at: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Eduisland/37/195/22/

Volunteer docents are on schedule at all hours of the day to answer any questions you might have, or to help you better learn how to use Second Life. Take advantage of this educational opportunity today! For more information about ISTE’s Second Life initiatives, please visit ISTE's Second Life Web site.
