SIG News: June 2008
Welcome to SIG News, the quarterly newsletter for ISTE’s Special Interest Group Program. I’m pleased to introduce this special NECC supplementary issue. It's hard to believe NECC 2008 is less than a month away! The SIG Leaders and ISTE Staff have been busy gearing up for the multitude of events we're planning for NECC in San Antonio, including annual meetings, sponsored sessions, workshops, and forums, playgrounds, and summits. In addition, there are many new officers who have joined our ranks and will officially take position at NECC. I know we're all looking forward to meeting new officers and seeing familiar faces in person again.
In this issue, be sure to take note of your SIG's recommended sessions and take a sneak peak at what the SIG Officers have been working so hard on in our SIG Forum Preview.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to introduce Audrey Vanderford, who will be moving into the Membership Program Manager role after NECC. Audrey comes to us with a wealth of knowledge in the education field (as a grad student, a teacher, and even as a conference coordinator for NECC!) which will allow her to hit the ground running. Please join me in welcoming Audrey to the SIG Program! You'll be hearing much more from her as she transitions into her role.
I hope you will take the time to read about the activities of your peers and will consider getting involved as a volunteer, NECC presenter, or contributor to the SIG discussion lists. If you'll be at NECC, we hope to meet you in person in a few short weeks!
