Help Shape the SIG Program: Take the 2009 SIG Survey
Please complete our 2009 SIG Survey. This information will help us provide programming best suited to your interests and needs.
Those who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing for one of the following prizes:
1) an 8 GB iPod Nano (retail value $149)

Digital Storytelling Contest: Tell your story and win a trip to NECC 2010!
To celebrate ISTE's 30th Anniversary, we’re inviting educators to submit videos that tell stories of student/educational transformation through technology.
All eligible submissions will be featured on ISTE’s new video portal, www.istevision.org, and will be entered into monthly drawings for fabulous prizes such as mini notebooks, ipods, flip cameras, and ISTE books.
Onsite at NECC, all submitted videos will be shown on dedicated istevision kiosks throughout the convention center (as well as the Web), and our favorites will be showcased via ISTE Connects and the ISTE Nings.
The grand prize winner will be selected by the live audience at the Member Welcome and Conference Overview on Sunday afternoon and will win an all-expense paid trip to NECC 2010 in Denver! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to showcase your work and win amazing prizes!
Visit www.iste.org/digital-stories/ for complete contest details.
If you are interested in volunteering to help with this contest -- or with the other digital storytelling projects that ISTE and the new Digital Storytelling SIG are undertaking -- please contact Audrey Watters (awatters@iste.org) for more information.
Vote on the Most Effective Ed Tech Tools from the Past 30 Years!
In December 2008, we asked SIG members to pick three ed tech tools from the past 30 years that they felt were most effective for teaching and learning. From their list, five categories emerged.
Which group of tools would you choose as the most effective for teaching and learning? Take the survey and leave a comment on the ISTE Connects blog telling us why you chose that category.

Looking for More to Help with Reviews on Games and Simulations for Teaching and Learning
The Games and Simulations SIG (SIGGS) is now helping ISTE's membership magazine, Learning and Leading, with reviews on software that are used for teaching and learning. The SIG is looking for more folks interested in participating in the review process and then writing reviews that can either become a full review for L&L or be used to inform a review.
If you think you might be interested in reviewing, please come visit our Ning http://istegstl.ning.com/group/gsreviews to participate.
L&L Essay Contest: How do you use Web 2.0 tools such as blogs, social networks, and wikis to teach or engage students?
L&L is holding an essay contest on the ISTE Ning (http://iste-members.ning.com/group/landl):
"Describe your innovative idea for educating with Web 2.0 tools in this discussion forum in 150 words or less. We'll pick our favorite entry and send the winner the #1 bestselling ISTE book Web 2.0: New Tools, New Schools. We'll also publish the winning idea in the Learning Connections section of a future edition of L&L."
The deadline for entries is April 13, and we'll choose and notify the winner, based on the originality and functionality of the idea, as well as quality of writing, by April 17. Good luck!
