SIG News: February 2009

Welcome to SIG News, the newsletter for ISTE's Special Interest Group Program.
Even though it's February, plans are well underway for spring and summer events at ISTE. This summer ISTE will host the 30th annual National Educational Computing Conference (NECC) in Washington DC, from June 28 - July 1. Conference registration is open for all events, including the SIG-sponsored workshops and the SIGs' forums. The full program is available online, so be sure to check out the "SIG Picks," those events recommended by your SIGs.
ISTE is planning many special activities to celebrate their 30th anniversary, including developing an archive of stories about 30 years of ed tech history. Read on to discover how you can contribute your story (and enter for a chance to win a trip to NECC!).
In addition to NECC, of course, the SIGs continue to provide excellent year-round professional development development opportunities for their members. In this newsletter, you will find links to archives as well as details about future SIG events.
One of the primary benefits of being a member of SIG is access to the expertise and experience of your fellow community members. Whether you are attending NECC this summer or not, be sure to join us in our listserve discussions and on the ISTE Ning.
Thanks for reading.
