Camilla Gagliolo
ISTE Board SIG Group Representative
Camilla Gagliolo holds a position as Instructional Technology Coordinator in Arlington County Public Schools in Virginia facilitating and leading technology integration to enhance teaching and learning for students. Her pride in working closely with teachers on integration of technology has made her a leader in implementing new technologies in all curriculum areas internationally.
Camilla has been an active volunteer with ISTE since 2002 and is currently serving on the ISTE Board as the Special Interest Group Representative and was elected to serve on the ISTE Executive Board Committee.
She also is chair of the ISTE international committee. “ISTE has provided me with a learning network of professionals internationally that allows me to learn from and with a global community on issues of importance to me” she explains. “I have learned so much from the people that I have met through this network both nationally and internationally and many are close friends and colleagues.”
Camilla sees the biggest opportunity for educators is managing ongoing change. “We need to cultivate new communities of professional practice where ideas and best practices are shared and celebrated.” Camilla goes on to say, “it excites me to see how technology can make learning relevant, engaging and collaborative.”
In addition to volunteering Camilla has been involved in facilitating NETS*T events at Virginia technology conferences and in school districts in Northern Virginia. She is also involved in planning a series of webinars for ISTE SIGTC members on the use of emergent technologies and Web 2.0 applications, leading up to the SIGTC forum at NECC 2008 in San Antonio, TX.
Camilla enjoys gardening and when her schedule allows she likes to do yoga. She especially enjoys daily dinners with her family prepared by her husband who is a trained French chef.
