Description
Using an online system developed by James Madison University (JMU), participants submit evidence (artifacts and reflections) to build their NETS•T. Submissions are judged by trained Evaluators using NETS•T 2000 rubrics. The first version of the system (for SVTC) used rubrics published by ISTE. The second version of this system (for Microsoft) uses rubrics that have been refined based on the preceding three year’s experience with the original ISTE rubrics. All materials have been used with ISTE’s permission.

Review Summary
The International Society for Technology in Education (www.iste.org) completed the review of the James Madison University/Microsoft Partnership for 21st Century Skills Assessment System on June 25, 2007. ISTE determined that these programs clearly support the implementation of the ISTE National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) for Teachers in specific, carefully reviewed and documented manner and prepares participants to substantially meet the following standards:
