Description
The goal of the eMINTS (enhancing Missouri's Instructional Networked Teaching Strategies) National Center is improved academic performance for children across the nation. The Center features eMINTS professional development methodologies, materials, and services integrating technology into inquiry-based teaching. The Center provides participants with support to ensure that program integrity is maintained during replication. Read more at http://www.emints.org/programs/comprehensive/.
The eMINTS Comprehensive Professional Development Program includes the following components:
- Year One: 132 contact hours of professional development;
- Year Two: 92 contact hours of professional development;
- Classroom visits from a certified instructional specialist every two weeks each year;
- Access to eThemes content support with permission to request searches;
- Access to electronic discussion lists; and,
- Availability of graduate credit.
Review Summary
The International Society for Technology in Education reviewed the eMINTS Comprehensive Professional Development Program on February 2, 2005, and determined that the program clearly supports implementation of the ISTE National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) in a specific, carefully reviewed and documented manner and prepares participants to substantially meet the following standards:
