Description
The Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3) is a global, standards-based certification program for basic computing and Internet literacy. The IC3 Program consists of integrated assessment and learning experiences that culminate in certification. The certification helps you learn and demonstrate computer and Internet literacy through a worldwide industry standard. To become IC3 certified, you must pass the following three exams: Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living Online. The program provides specific guidelines for the knowledge and skills required to be a functional user of computer hardware, software, networks, and the Internet. Certiport delivers the IC3 program through a global test delivery network of more than 12,000 authorized testing centers in 128 countries in 20 languages.

The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) completed its review of Certiport's Internet & Computing Core Certification (IC3) Program on April 19, 2005, and has determined that this program and certificate clearly support implementation of the ISTE National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) for Students and Teachers in specific, carefully reviewed and documented ways and substantially prepare participants in the following manner:
