Description

Intel® Teach Skills for Success is the newest program from Intel® Education. It is a school program designed to teach essential skills for success in today’s knowledge economy -- technological literacy, problem solving and collaboration skills. Intel Teach Skills for Success is the formal school version of the successful Intel® Learn program, which was originally created for the informal education environment.  Intel® Learn has previously been reviewed by ISTE, and received the ISTE Seal of Alignment with NETS*S.

Intel® Teach Skills for Success was designed to help governments with emerging economies meet the challenge of providing an engaging computer education program to youth who have little or no computer access or skills.  In collaboration with governments and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Intel developed a program that could be delivered on a large scale to students in these countries and make effective use of school computer labs.  Intel Teach Skills for Success provides training for ICT teachers to implement a curriculum with students during the school day.

Intel Teach Skills for Success is designed to assist youth to develop 21st Century Learning Skills, with a focus on technology literacy, problem solving and other forms of critical thinking, and collaboration and teamwork. The methodology uses a project approach, where students learn by applying basic computer applications to meaningful and relevant thematic activities and projects with a team of peers.

Intel Teach Skills for Success was developed in 2006 and was implemented in India, Nigeria and China. Expansion in 2007 is expected in at least six countries.
