Learn new skills and develop new career strengths!

Improve teaching and learning by advancing the effective use of technology in education through this comprehensive hybrid program with face-to-face and online coursework. Teams develop individualized action plans based on data from a technology-use self-assessment survey and analysis of the conditions essential for success, along with measurable objectives. Teams then focus on plan implementation and assessment with just-in-time resources (e.g., teams post bi-weekly reflections on plan progress and mentors refer them to resources in books and online).

The Institute begins with a two-day workshop where teams examine the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS), consider appropriate assessment types and tools, and establish goals and action steps.

Coursework continues with a semester of mentor-supported online learning, where teams study technology, instruction, and learning topics; implement school plans; and assess progress toward plan goals.

The Institute concludes with a one-day closing session, where the group shares successes and plans for next steps.

The ISTE Institute was developed in 2003 with founding support from HP.
