Implications Wheel® Facilitation

Implications Wheel® Strategic Exploration

Find the future faster.

ISTE offers expert facilitation of meetings for education organizations that wish to explore and respond intentionally to:

  • Emerging trends
  • Policy changes
  • New laws
  • Strategic objectives and goals
  • Significant events or issues

ISTE facilitators employ the Implications Wheel® to support your group's planning. The Implications Wheel® is a strategic exploration tool developed by world renowned futurist, Joel A. Barker. It draws upon group wisdom to quickly and effectively uncover the short- and long-term implications of any change.

Through guided analysis using the I-Wheel process, organizations explore the implications of any decision or action, and become ready to move with confidence and clear intention toward a desirable future.

The Process

In a planning meeting, ISTE's certified facilitators work with representatives from an organization to identify and refine the topic for exploration. In a subsequent two-hour meeting, a larger and diverse group of stakeholders come together to explore the implications of the issue at hand. Implications Wheel® software helps teams build a visual representation of their collective wisdom. The group ends the meeting having identified desired and undesired, and likely and remote potential outcomes. The team is now ready to build barriers to the results they wish to avoid, and bridges toward the results they desire.
