General Comments:

Very well organized! Thank you.
Excellent Symposium - learned so much
So many good sessions was unable to attend all. Too many good choices. Thank you!
This was my first Symposium. I thought it was great. Very relevant, and a very nice ending to NECC.
Being with so many brilliant computing educators is inspiring; makes me feel I have a long way to go. I wonder where I fit.
I really look forward to these symposiums. As a CS teacher, most staff development is not relevant to my discipline. This is so great because everyone here is dealing with the same issues. I always go home with new ideas and reenergized for teaching. The effort and planning is so evident. It's like Christmas for CS teachers. Thanks!
Every session I attended was good or very good. Keep up the excellent work! At almost every breakout time, I was interested in more than 1 session - a sign of a fine program!
Wish I could have attended more breakouts - all tracks looked excellent!
Exceeded expectations even though expectations were high.
Really informative.
Exceeds expectations! Thank you! Job Well Done
Extremely good conference. Would like to become more involved throughout the year to enhance what I deliver in the classroom at 2 year college level.
Thanks for providing the CD and for putting presentations on the Website!
Access to shared resources is so valuable to teachers! Thanks
More than met expectations!
Great Conference!
Keep up the great work!
Sessions were excellent.
Great job!
Meals and refreshment absolutely incredible. Wow, better than a cruise!

Suggestions for improving the Symposium:

It would have been useful to get session descriptions and speaker bio in advance.
People using cell phones, playing games and typing email is distracting. Maybe laptops off or table for laptop users at back of room.
Include K-5 also
Have a call for participation for presenters
Have some interactive, hands-on sessions for workshops to involve audiences or group activities.
More power cords for computers in the rooms
Many folk have laptops now – BYO Laptop sessions should be more plentiful
You should be showing the latest information, innovations, what is about to come or what has just been released, etc.
More emphasis on IT & CS - the tech support is not included enough.

Recommendations for Topics and/or Speakers for Future Symposia:

Fundamentals for new CS teachers.
New algorithms in CS Education
What “standard” (decades old) CS Topics can be omitted in HS courses to make room for games, Web services, and other new exciting content (e.g. sorting algorithms - relegate to college?)
Anything relevant to teaching AP CS
How AP exams are graded - free response rubrics
Overview of Python/Greenfoot/Scratch/Alice/Etc. and where they fit into K-12 continuum.
Greenfoot
Scratch
Role of VB & SQV in beginning programming.
More workshop sessions that address computer applications.
SMART phones and handheld apps in CS
Set up with how to use would be worth investment in time.
Session on Ethics: “Teaching computers without Ethics is Unethical”
A gender session would be nice
Computer security issues in education today
K - 8 Lessons/Topics
