Harness the "power of two": differentiating instruction plus technology equals a better learning environment for our very diverse students.  Join authors, educators, and tech enthusiasts Grace Smith, Ph.D. and Stephanie Throne, Ph.D. for a thought-provoking discussion about how you can use technology as a tool to differentiate instruction. They will offer a variety of practical strategies and user-friendly resources to accommodate a broad range of learning styles, abilities, and curriculum content to help kick-start your use of technology in differentiating instruction. This session is designed for K–8 teachers, district level technology coordinators, curriculum specialists and pre-service teachers.

About the Presenters

Dr. Grace E. Smith is the Instructional Technology Curriculum Coordinator and Social Studies Curriculum Specialist for a school district of 10,000 students, where she develops and teaches professional development workshops for classroom teachers, models lessons, and coaches teachers in integrating technology into their content areas.

A former college professor, Dr. Stephanie Throne currently works as an educational consultant and private tutor for students and teachers of all levels, ranging from preschool to adult.  In addition, she writes about historical topics and technology with her writing partner, Grace.  Stephanie and Grace are co-authors of the book, Differentiating Instruction with Technology in K–5 Classrooms, published by ISTE in October 2007, as well as several articles and another (upcoming) book.  They enjoy speaking at conferences and conducting workshops to help teachers use technology to differentiate instruction.
