Over 70% of secondary students currently own cell phone in the United States. While schools are writing policies to keep the growing number of cell phones out of the learning environment, they may be missing an opportunity to take advantage of this “Swiss army knife” of learning tools. The mobile phone is an inexpensive 21st Century tool that has the potential to connect in school learning with student’s everyday experiences outside of school.
