In this intermediate session, learn what additional Web 2.0 technologies can supplement blogging in the classroom. RSS feeds, podcasting, video/slideshow creation, online surveys, and more will be explored. Additionally, this webinar will focus on the “art of blog commenting” so that students can experience more meaningful, sustained communication and community building via this digital medium.

About the Presenter

Janni Black is a secondary educator working in the trenches to bring 21st century skills to students. With 8 years of teaching experience in the curricular areas of English, Social Studies, and Special Education, in addition to her 10 years of classroom work in Computer Science, she understands that teachers of all content areas and age levels have enormous potential to help students develop digital literacy skills to ensure tomorrow’s success. As an early adopter of Internet technologies, she has used web technologies to supplement curriculum development for over a decade. Currently she shares her professional thoughts and experiences on her blog, Transitioning to Web 2.0 and was recently announced Women of the Web’s “Geek of the Week” for her blog post “Using Blogs to Promote Authentic Learning in the Classroom”. She enjoys giving hands-on Web 2.0 presentations to schools in the Denver metro area, and has shared on Classroom 2.0’s Live Conversations on the topic of educational blogging. She has served on various leadership and technology committees, and is an ISTE member.
