The Blended Classroom Made Easy
Jonathan and Aaron will share how they have implemented a new approach to learning which has transformed classrooms across the nation. Their “blended” approach to learning is the ideal marriage of face-to-face and online learning. Webinar participants will learn how to design and set up a blended classroom that integrate on-demand video podcast instruction produced in Camtasia Studio and classroom management systems (Moodle, Blackboard, etc.) with effective brick and mortar classroom interactions. This model transforms a traditional classroom into a center of asynchronous learning for mastery in which students move through content at their own pace and demonstrate mastery via data driven assessments.
Jonathan and Aaron will demonstrate through screen-sharing how to integrate the various technologies in a way that allows for the blended classroom. Demonstrations will include production and distribution of video podcasts, class structure in Moodle, asynchronous testing security in Moodle, and tracking of student progress and grading in Infinite Campus. They will demonstrate through video clips how their own classrooms operate on a daily basis. Video clips will include student testimonials.
Hardware and software options will be presented for a variety of budgets. Free and open-source options are available.
All participants will be invited to participate in live online/SMS polls through http://polleverywhere.com to aid in the customization of the presentation for the audience. All participants will also be invited to join Jon and Aaron's vodcasting Ning.

A Teacher's Favorite Podcasting Projects
A note from Bob: It is important to me that students are excited about learning and that we use technology to do a better job of communicating and getting our students ready for the world of work. I am constantly looking for better ways to communicate with teachers and students from around the world. I use video and audio Podcasting projects to accomplish these goals. I have found a creative ways to integrate National Educational Technology Standards and Performance Indicators for administrators, teachers, and students into our high motivational Podcasting projects.
My colleagues and I formed Super School University so that we might work with teachers from around the world to do a better job at refining best teaching practices while using technology in our classrooms. The ISTE NETS Standards helped us to lay a foundation under our educational projects.
The following projects are used to help our students to do a better job at listening, speaking, reading, writing, and using technology in project based learning.
Kids Talk Radio
Super School Teen TV
Super School Press
Youth World News
Jr. Medical School
Jr. Business School
Jr. Law School
These audio and video Podcasting projects are designed to help our student in the areas of language arts, communication and journalism. We teach our students to become student backpack journalist.
Our projects are designed to motivate gifted and talented students, special education, English language learners, and general education students in public and private schools.
Our project based learning programs are supported by five websites.
Educators and others will benefit from information about how we integrate technology and high motivational project based learning into existing language arts and journalism programs. Students use professional software such as Aperture, Logic Pro, Final Cut Studio, Brain Cogs, Essay Express, and Journalist in a Box, electronic portfolios and custom websites to demonstrate their skills.
