2005 Southwest Leadership Academy
Systemic School Improvement through Technology Integration
This Professional Development event, a collaboration of the WestEd
Regional Technology in Education Consortium (RTEC) and ISTE, the
International Society for Technology in Education, took place in Mesa,
Arizona, March 24 and 25, 2005
During this two-day conference, Superintendents, Administrators, and
School Technology Teams increased their capacity for leading systemic
school improvement through technology integration by:
- learning from key speakers, including Don Knezek, CEO of
ISTE, and Susan Patrick, Director of the Office of Educational
Technology, U.S. Department of Education;
- participating in interactive workshops on themes of systemic
school change, data-driven decision-making, and personal productivity
using existing and emerging technologies;
- networking and learning from other professionals in moderated
birds-of-a-feather session;
- participating in a panel discussion with administrators who
are leading with technology;
- leaving with concrete outcomes and the start of a plan of
action.
