Scholarships are available for qualifying schools. Email institute@iste.org to find out if you qualify.

What is the ISTE Institute?

The ISTE Institute: Leading with NETS is a program designed for teams of educators who are focused on increasing their effectiveness on student learning through the integration of technology.  Based on the National Educational Technology Standards and on the current research on effective practice, the program takes a project-based approach, customizing the materials and focus to each team’s context.

Sebastian Elementary uses the ISTE Institute: Leading with NETS to aid in developing an onsite learning community for their staff, parents, and students. The LURE (Learn it. Use it. Run with it. Explain it.) program offers students and parents access to important classroom information 24/7. Read more.

What will my school gain from participating in the Institute?

  • Intensive instruction in the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) (http://cnets.iste.org/)
  • Increased alignment of participants' practice with the NETS
  • Improved practice with the latest research on the effective integration of technology in education
  • Action research to apply this knowledge in the classroom and/or school
  • Guidance to use the data from this action research to scale efforts school-wide
  • Professional development for each team member which aligns across the roles to maximize the outcomes for your students and the return on your professional development investment

Who can participate?

Teams of educators from schools committed to integrating technology into their instruction are best positioned to benefit from the Institute. Teams should include: two classroom teachers, one technology specialist, and one administrator.
