Program Structure

The partnership between Johns Hopkins Center for Technology in Education (CTE) and ISTE aims to maintain the depth and focus of the traditional A&S certificate offered at JHU, adapt it to include a focus on instructional technology, and to offer it in a Web-based format that builds on CTE’s research-based approach to online learning. The certificate launches with an online kickoff in June 2008 and includes a face-to-face meeting at
ISTE’s National Educational Computing Conference (NECC) in July 2008. It continues for approximately one year, culminating with an internship. The work of the cohort of students will be highlighted at NECC in 2008 with a gallery walk, celebratory activities and conference presentations.

Upon successful completion of the year-long certificate program that combines 5 online courses offered in 8-weeksegments, a customized internship, and face-to-face work sessions, participants earn the 18-credit certificate from Johns Hopkins University and are prepared to meet the standards of the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC). The courses and the culminating internship that make up the Online Graduate Certificate in
School Administration and Supervision are listed below:
