ISTE Professional Development Opportunities

Learning from the Best: How ISTE's Team of Outstanding Educators can enhance your Organization's Professional Development

ISTE Institute: Leading with NETS

[Logo]A professional development program for teams of educators based on ISTE's National Educational Technology Standards (NETS). Participants immerse themselves in learning about NETS and then work with a mentor to improve teaching and learning in their schools by using NETS to integrate technology in their classrooms.

Participation includes three days of interactive learning with skilled mentors and national leaders, more than four months of facilitated online learning activities, and a rich set of resources to keep. Learn more about Institute dates, scholarships, and how to register online.

ISTE Technology Leadership Training

Based on ISTE's National Educational Technology Standards for Administrators (NETS•A) our technology leadership training supports school leaders in refining and applying the ISTE Administrator Technology Leadership Toolkit. This toolkit provides a variety of assessment, design, implementation and evaluation tools for creating an electronic school portfolio aligned with the NETS•A. The toolkit also includes links to professional development resources that support administrators in building their capacity to recognize effective integration of technology in teaching and learning, and in systemic school improvement. We offer a one-day training at your school or district office, as well as a hybrid online and face-to-face module that culminates at NECC.

Assessment and Technology Training

In this one day event, participants will:

  • learn about using both traditional and alternative assessment to provide authentic evidence of student learning and teacher integration of technology, within the current emphasis on scientifically-based research
  • gain a better understanding of the diverse tools and strategies (i.e., e-portfolios, performance assessments, surveys, and classroom observation instruments) that produce evidence of learning to support the culture of evidence required by both NCATE and NCLB
  • review and receive a copy of ISTE's new book, NETS for Teachers: Resources for Assessment

Assessment/Evaluation and NCLB/E2T2 Survival Guide

With so many requests for help understanding the No Child Left Behind Legislation, and more specifically the "Enhancing Education Through Technology" component, and specifically questions regarding assessment and evaluation, ISTE has responded to the need by developing this training opportunity. Participants will grow in their understanding of NCLB requirements and receive survival tips, solutions, and tools that will assist them in their implementation.

"Best of the Best" NECC workshops

[Logo]NECC attracts some of the best educational technology presenters in the country. Each year, ISTE identifies the Best of the Best workshops offered at NECC. Inclusion in the Best of the Best program is based on quantitative and qualitative evaluation of numerous factors including workshop enrollments, participant evaluations, relevancy of topic, and overall audience appeal.

Now, we want to bring these exceptional programs to you! We can schedule half-day and/or full-day workshops at your school, school district, state office, or regional conference. Many can be tailored to your needs. Learn more.
