Curriculum Design is Simple (But Not Easy)
by Philip East and Betsy Frederick
In general, designing curriculum simply involves determining what
you want
students to be able to do and selecting or designing activities that
allow the
students to learn and practice those skills. Unfortunately, neither
determining
those basic tasks/skills nor designing learning activities is
easy--both are
quite complex and hard. This session is planned as dialogs between the
session
leader and participants that address the process of course development
for computer
science courses (both literacy/fluency and programming). Session notes
will
include examples and will be revised to include ideas from
participants.
