Fluency in IT and Computer Science: What Does It Mean for the K–12
Curriculum?
by Allen B. Tucker
The disciplines of computer science and information technology are
now taught
in diverse ways in primary and secondary schools across the nation. It
is time
to consider the development of a unified curriculum model that can be
implemented
in all K12 schools. This session will suggest a collection of
core concepts
and goals that can motivate the development of such a curriculum. It
will also
identify implementation details and the practical needs that will
accompany
such an implementation.
