When Practice Precedes Policy: Online learning is the fastest growing segment of educational technology, for the best—or worst—reasons. Ferid Serim, Southwest Regional Director for the National Network of Digital Schools and an ISTE board member, discusses long-term strategies for engendering effective online learing policies.

The Threat of Security: Concerns about inappropriate Internet usage, copyright violations, and other threats to security are leading teachers to stay away form educational technology. Researchers LeAnne Robinson, Abbie Brown, and Tim Green examine several anecdotes from the classroom and explore how fears about secirty are hampering the integration of technology into teaching and learning

Motivating Teachers: Technology incentives are a great way to encourage teachers to pursue professional development. Technology coach Virginia Richard details several incentive strategies to encourage teachers to attend training sessions and employ what they learn.
