Meet President Holly Jobe

   

 

Holly Jobe has been involved in all levels of education from elementary, middle school, high school, central office and higher education.  Her interests are in how educational technology can reform education and fully engage students in taking responsibility for learning; and educational leadership.  From 2006 to June 2011, she served as the project manager for Governor Rendell’s Classrooms for the Future high school reform program at the Pennsylvania Department of Education.  Prior to being at the PDE, she was at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, where she served as a Technology Specialist and Supervisor before becoming the Director of the technology program in 1995. In that capacity, she supervised delivery of instructional materials, technical repair, internet services and technology staff development for the districts of Montgomery County.  She was the project lead for several state-wide professional development and leadership initiatives: the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation State Challenge for administrator technology professional development, Pennsylvania’s SuperintendentTechnology Leadership Academy from 2000-2004, and Getting to One, leadership development for Curriculum and Technology Leaders in 2005.  Ms Jobe currently serves as President on the International Society for Technology in Education board and recently participated in a People-to-People Citizen’s Ambassador delegation for Educational Technology in the People’s Republic of China December 2008.

 

ISTE Board of Directors

ISTE is governed by a Board of Directors, consisting of outstanding educational leaders elected by the members, and guided by a strategic plan. The 2011–2012 Board of Directors consists of President Holly Jobe, Past President Helen L. Padgett , and 17 additional national and international representatives. Board elections are held online each spring in compliance with the ISTE Bylaws, and all ISTE members are welcome to run for open Board positions.

  This year’s annual report, Unlocking Potential, explores the many ways ISTE and its members build and promote the essential conditions of a good education around the world. Educators share a common passion: a desire to see every student realize his or her potential through a vibrant and innovative learning experience. The annual report provides a snapshot of the innovative and creative work ISTE members are doing to transform education globally and locally.
