Frequently asked questions about ISTE Membership.

How do I log into the ISTE website?

Click on the “Sign In” button on the header bar in the top right corner of our homepage.


When does my membership expire?

You membership expiration date appears in your profile under your profile picture.


Can I use a purchase order to renew or purchase an ISTE membership, or on the ISTE online store?

Absolutely! You can select purchase order as a payment option in the shopping cart, which will provide you a field to enter the purchase order number and a tool to locate and upload a digital version of the purchase order from your computer. We will invoice your school or business and the order will be fulfilled immediately.


How do I reach ISTE or customer support for any issues or questions?

If you have questions or need assistance, you can reach our customer support representatives via Live Chat or by phone, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. PT , Monday–Friday at 800.336.5191 (U.S. & Canada) or 503.342.2848 (International). Or you can reach us by email at iste@iste.org

How do I set up or update my ISTE community profile?

There are two ways to update your ISTE community profile:

1. Go to iste.org, navigate to the header bar and click on the ‘Welcome” button with your name. Locate the link to Manage My Community Profile and fill in the fields!
2. Head directly to the community site at connect.iste.org and sign in. Look for a “profile” link in the header bar on the right. Click that link to edit your community profile.


Please note, this is different than the ISTE Conference & Expo program profile for presenters.


How do I adjust my email preferences?

In your membership profile,click on the Manage Email Preferences link at the bottom, and then check or uncheck boxes to choose which emails you want to receive. Make sure to click the green “Save” button at the bottom of the page! Please note that PLN and community updates are managed in your community profile. You can find directions to adjust these settings below.


How do I adjust my notifications from the ISTE communities?

By default, you will receive a daily digest for each of the ISTE communities you belong to. This daily digest contains all of the discussion posts in that community from the previous day, making it easy to follow conversations and participate yourself. To change these preferences, go to “Community Notifications” in your community profile. On that page, you can also choose the “Consolidated Daily Digest,” which puts all of your community messages into one single email. To enable this option, check the box for each community you want included in the Consolidated Daily Digest, then select “No Email” for that community.

How do I connect with other ISTE members?

Connect with your peers in our online ISTE Community. That’s where you can join some ISTE Professional Learning Networks and engage with other members on topics you’re passionate about!


Where can I learn about or ask a question about a specific topic?

Join an ISTE Professional Learning Network. There are more than 20 networks based on specific topics or job roles with year-round PD, resources-sharing and discussion boards. Free to members.


Resources


Where can I find free resources and learn about the latest ed tech trends and issues?

Get practical guidance on how to effectively implement ed tech into your classroom, school or district in the EdTekHub. You’ll also find articles and videos on the latest ed tech trends and issues. The ISTE Store has hundreds of resources that are free to members as well.


Where do I find digital resources I’ve either purchased or received as part of my membership?

Your digital resources will be located on your Virtual Products page, located in your profile. Follow the Virtual Products link, and any resources you have purchased or received will be organized by type for you to view or download.


How do I receive the complimentary ebook that comes with my membership?

You can select your complimentary ebook by navigating to the benefits page in your member profile. On the right side of the benefits page is a menu to select the book. Click “Add to Cart,” and continue through the order process. When completed, the ebook will appear in your virtual products!


Conference


How do I register for the conference?

Head to our conference page and click on the ‘For Attendees’ link in the top header bar - there you will find a link to register.


Why doesn’t ISTE offer a conference in my state?

The ISTE Conference & Expo is so large that many cities can’t accommodate the event. However, many of our affiliates host conferences throughout the year with similar program content. View the event calendar to see what’s coming up near you!


How can the ISTE Standards be used?
