Association Promotes Tracee Aliotti to Senior Director, Marketing and Brand Management
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sept. 16, 2013 – The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE®) today announced the appointment of Jodie Pozo-Olano to chief communications officer. In addition, the association promoted Tracee Aliotti to senior director, marketing and brand management.
“As ISTE moves forward with the important work of fully implementing our recently launched new vision and mission, strategic communications are integral to our success,” said ISTE CEO Brian Lewis. “Jodie's passion, knowledge and deep roots in the education community, coupled with her extensive experience in communications, marketing and public affairs make her the ideal leader for this pivotal position. She's a wonderful person whose commitment to the industry will be an inspiration for our strong communication and marketing team.”
Pozo-Olano has nearly 20 years of experience in public relations, communications and marketing. Most recently, she led global public relations activities for Promethean, an education company that specializes in interactive classroom solutions. Prior to joining Promethean, Pozo-Olano’s education-focused public relations consultancy, Sequoia Public Relations, helped launch a number of national education initiatives, including NBC Learn (now Education Nation), the State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA) and the International Association for K–12 Online Learning (iNACOL). She started her career in public policy and was involved in the development of the nation’s first Education Technology Plan as well as the launch of the E-Rate program.
Aliotti has served as ISTE’s director of marketing in the Eugene, Ore., office for nearly three years, most recently managing the development and debut of the association’s new brand. In her new role as ISTE's senior director, marketing and brand management, Aliotti will oversee all marketing and branding for the association. Prior to joining ISTE, Aliotti was a senior account manager at the brand design firm, Funk/Levis & Associates, where managed many of the firm’s major accounts, including the 2008 USGA Women’s Amateur and the City of Rochester, Minn.
Other recent promotions at ISTE include Heidi Ellis to senior manager, membership development and Britni Harford to senior digital marketing strategist.
