ISTE is leading its first-ever study tour to Australia! Sixteen ISTE members plus a staff tour leader are exploring the education landscape throughout the country, September 28 – October 13, 2012.
Australia has long been known for setting the pace in educational technology pedagogy and practices. Tour group members are looking forward to exploring these ideas, seeing them in action, and developing long term collaborations. The two-week tour includes participation at the Australian Council for Computers in Education conference (ACEC). Several of the group members will be presenting sessions during the week. They will also visit a variety of schools, libraries, and educational organizations in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.
The group includes university professors, directors of technology, classroom teachers, technology coordinators, library media specialists, corporate representatives, researchers, ISTE president and two board members. Most group members are from the US and two are from Norway.
They are eager to share their experiences not only with their own colleagues but with all ISTE members and the global education community. You can tag along virtually by following them on Twitter, #isteautour, visiting their blogs, and watching for snippets through ISTE’s social media channels. Check this page again soon for details on how to catch the tour in action.
