As usual, Don Knezek has had a busy month, consulting with education leaders in Mexico, Canada, Columbia, and the U.S. On Monday, November 15, ISTE’s CEO presented a keynote speech before the Global Education conference, which took place entirely online and was free for participants from anywhere in the world.
In case you missed Don’s inspiring speech on putting innovation at the heart of student learning, he gave permission to upload all 73 slides and share them here:

If you’re interested in learning more about this event and the global collaborations happening in education, check out the Global Education Wiki and the Global Education Ning Network. It’s a shrinking world; let’s focus on teaching our students to work with students all over the globe, instead of competing with our international counterparts.
Don was also a featured in a recent Mashable article on technology in education. His “8 Ways Technology is Improving Education,” is making the rounds on Facebook and Twitter and has launched a spirited discussion of ed tech in the comments section. Here are Don’s top eight areas where technology has shown its potential for improving education:
1. Better Simulations and Models
2. Global Learning
3. Virtual Manipulatives
4. Probes and Sensors
5. More Efficient Assessment
6. Storytelling and Multimedia
7. E-books
8. Epistemic Games
You can read the entire article, which includes some fantastic video and graphic elements, here.
With all the frequent flyer miles our CEO racks up, it’s nice to see he’s also expanding his travels through the virtual world. Check back here often to see where Don is going to pop up next.
