Members of SIGGS are concerned with issues related to the advancement and understanding of how games, simulations, and virtual environments impact teaching, learning, and education in general. Through initiatives, services, and outreach, this group serves to advance ISTE’s mission by developing and disseminating resources available to practitioners, researchers, and developers committed to improving teaching and learning using games and simulations.
Some of SIGGS’ objectives include:
- Support ISTE by promoting and growing SIG membership and participation in events, initiatives, and scholarly publications.
- Identify and share sources, information, research, and tools that support and advance the utilization, integration, design, development, and evaluation of games and simulations for teaching and learning.
- Collaborate and build partnerships with individuals, organizations, and industry leaders that share SIG goals and initiatives.
