ISTE Awards

ISTE Outstanding Young Educator Award. ISTE presents this award to an outstanding young educator (under the age of 35) who demonstrates vision, innovation, action, and transformation using technology to improve teaching and learning. The work of the selected educator reflects ISTE's mission and purpose and can be used to model best practices in the field.

ISTE Public Policy Advocate Award. ISTE presents this award to an individual who is an outstanding leader and mentor in advocating for education technology policy at the local, state, regional, national and/or international level.

Kay L. Bitter Vision Award for Excellence in Technology Based PK–2 Education. ISTE presents this scholarship to a PK–2 educator who has demonstrated vision and creativity in a project or program that effectively integrates technology in the classroom and/or school. 

Sylvia Charp Award for District Innovation in Technology. Presented jointly by T.H.E. Journal and ISTE, this award recognizes U.S. school districts that exhibit effectiveness and innovation in the application of technology.

ISTE Affiliate Awards

Outstanding Teacher. This award recognizes and honors one teacher who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and leadership in implementing technology to improve education.

Outstanding Leader. This award recognizes and honors one leader who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and leadership in implementing technology to improve education.

ISTE Special Interest Group Awards

SIGMS—Media Specialist Technology Innovation Award..ISTE’s Media Specialist Special Interest Group (SIGMS) recognizes teams of a school librarian and collaborating teacher who have conducted an exemplary technology program extending beyond the library to meet the needs of classroom students and teachers.

SIGOL—Online Learning Award. ISTE’s Special Interest Group for Online Learning (SIGOL) recognizes creative educators for their pioneering use of telelearning activities to provide innovative learning opportunities for students in grades K–16.

SIGTE—Research Paper Award. ISTE's Teacher Educator Special Interest Group (SIGTE) recognizes excellence in research in the area of technology and teacher education. All research papers accepted for presentation at ISTE’s annual conference and exposition, including those selected for both the research paper and round table categories, are eligible for the SIGTE Research Paper Award.

Other Awards

Making IT Happen. This internationally recognized awards program for educators and leaders in the field of educational technology integration in K–12 schools identifies and rewards educational technology leaders around the world for their commitment and innovation.

President's Volunteer Service Award. ISTE is an official certifying organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award, which honors individuals who demonstrate commitment and inspire others to volunteer. As a certifying organization, ISTE's volunteer hours can be applied toward this prestigious award.
