Technology Leadership Forum: Innovation Exchange – Continuing the Conversation

ISTE and SIGTC are pleased to invite you to attend a very exciting leadership forum for education technology leaders at NECC 2008 on Wednesday, July 2 from 8:00 AM – Noon at San Antonio’s Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center, Room 217BC.

Join us while we explore innovative technologies being implemented in schools across the country. With an emphasis on low-cost options, come hear the real life stories of pioneer educators who are creatively using such technologies to impact teaching and learning. Richard Baraniuk will explore the future of open source content delivery and curriculum development, followed by a panel of educators discussing their successes and challenges implementing emerging technologies to enhance teaching and learning.  You will have a chance to try out some of these innovative technologies and ask further questions.  Discover the implications of ubiquitous computing, how to use technology effectively to meet emergent learner needs, and come up with some creative ways these and other innovative technologies fit into your classroom, school, or district!

Here is a snapshot of who is on the panel and the emerging technologies to be discussed and exhibited:

Kurt Madden – ASUS eeePC and e-portfolios
Leigh Zeitz – Jing and Google Doc Forms
Lee Keller – online synchronous professional development systems
Kathy Schrock – Portable applications for all on a personal USB drive
Camilla Gagliolo – Nintendo DS and collaborative activities

You are encouraged to use this time to begin developing an action plan for incorporating these low-cost innovations into your operations. Opportunities for networking with your colleagues and the presenters are an integral part of the program design for this event.
