A recent survey of State Education Technology Directors Association members found that 35 of the 39 states that responded are using the NETS for Teachers.  In addition, private schools, charter schools and many schools around the world are using the NETS.

Consider leading a NETS Refresh Forum at a conference near you!  Help ISTE gather input from the field for the Technology Leader, Technology Facilitator, and Secondary Computer Science Educator standards.  You can use the NETS Refresh Toolkit, and email Carolyn Sykora (csykora@iste.org) with questions.

ISTE relies on the wisdom from the field to update and revise the NETS. Since 2006, when we launched the NETS Refresh, thousands of educators weighed in on efforts to refresh the student, teacher, and administrators standards.

At present, ISTE is refreshing standards for technology leaders, technology facilitators, and secondary computer science educators.  Originally developed for NCATE, these standards will become part of the NETS suite of standards for professionals.
