Seal of Alignment for Proficiency Statement:

The International Society for Technology in Education completed a Seal of Alignment for Proficiency review of Autodesk’s Digital STEAM Workshop January 27, 2012. ISTE determined that this curriculum clearly supports implementation of the ISTE NETS for Students (NETS•S 2007) in a carefully reviewed and documented manner and prepares students at the proficiency level for the following NETS•S indicators:

Meets: 1a, 1b, 1c, 2b, 3d, 6a
Support Significant Growth for: 2a, 2d, 4b, 4c, 4d, 6d

The Autodesk Digital STEAM Workshop brings a new approach to teaching design, sustainability, and creative problem-solving using Autodesk software. The Autodesk Digital STEAM Workshop engages students in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) through projects developed by industry experts and teachers. Through interactive learning games, real-time 3D project viewers, and design-thinking videos, this project-based learning workshop engages students while teaching and reinforcing the learning of core subjects using technology. Each project is accompanied by comprehensive teacher resources, including lesson plans, project briefs, a pretest and posttest, design criteria worksheets, rubrics, and assessment resources.  Each project includes a completed example project with software data files and step-by-step technical videos. Teachers do not have to be experts in Autodesk software to bring Digital STEAM into their classrooms. The extensive support materials give teachers the scaffolding they need to guide students through projects and design processes.
