Technology Use in Schools Certificate

Lehigh University’s College of Education offers a rigorous, 12-credit (4 course) certificate program that prepares teachers, administrators, and technologists to effectively integrate technology into teaching and learning. Participants will gain both theory and hands-on use with technologies like web resources, online and social systems, and learning games and apps. After completing Lehigh’s certificate, participants will be able to apply theory to practice to select tomorrow’s technologies to meet learning needs, and will know the best teaching practices to accomplish their goals.

Technology Use in the Schools Certificate courses were designed to answer four essential questions for contemporary educators:

  • How do we design engaging and effective learning activities? (TLT403)
  • What tools can improve classroom learning? (TLT470)
  • How can we deeply engage students in flipped and online course activities? (TLT462/472)
  • How can we tell what's working in the classroom and the school? (TLT476)

Reviewers determined that this resource provides substantial opportunities for participating teachers to practice the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the ISTE Standards for Teacher. This 4-course certificate program prepares teachers, administrators, and technologists to effectively integrate technology to meet the classroom learning needs in both U.S. and international schools through the application of theory and practice.
