The iPad is much more than a device for accessing and using Apps in the curriculum. The iPad can be used by students and teachers as a creative tool in the classroom--and beyond the walls of the school. Imagine having your students at Coney Island, taking pictures, collecting data, making short videos of the experiences, Facetiming with their peers in Los Angeles (who are at Catalina Island at the same time) then producing a Keynote presentation on their way home! Or, imagine your students on the school study tour, creating an iPad-based Wordpress blog, featuring reflections, images and videos of their trip! In this webinar, participants will learn how to use iMovie, Keynote and Numbers for iOS as comprehensive learning tools as well as "discuss" project development and assessment. Samples of student projects will be shared and critiqued.

Bio: Eric is an experienced Science and Technology Educator and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology, a Master’s Degree in Atmospheric Science from SUNY/Albany and a Professional Certificate in Online Education from UCSD. A participant in the 2011 Apple Academy, he has been instrumental in developing Marymount’s mobile learning initiative as well as Marymount’s internationally recognized STEM program. An early adopter of mobile learning and ePublishing, Eric and his students are writing and publishing our own material. He has been a presenter at workshops in science and technology education at regional, national and international conferences.

Bio: Katie is an experienced Biology and Technology Educator and she hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Science Education from the University of Wisconsin and a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from Full Sail University. A 2011 Apple Distinguished Educator, Katie has developied content on mobile learning for iTunesU. An early adopter of mobile learning and ePublishing, both Katie and her students are writing and publishing our own material. Katie has presented numerous workshops in science and educational technology across the New York area.
