Washington, D.C. — The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), which works with the global education community to accelerate the use of technology to solve tough problems and inspire innovation, has just released its first audiobooks. They are Pathways to Well-Being: Helping Educators (and Others) Find Balance in a Connected World and Fact vs Fiction: Teaching Critical Thinking in the Age of Fake News. ISTE plans to release additional audiobooks this year.

The fastest growing delivery method for book content is audio. Audiobooks have experienced double-digit growth for the last several years, and that trend is likely to continue as customers increasingly use smartphones and tablets to consume published content.

“Educators have to make the most of their time,” said Colin Murcray, senior director of Book and Journal Publishing at ISTE. “Audiobooks allow them to pursue their professional development while commuting, working out or waiting in line.”

As demands on today’s busy educators increase, ISTE is exploring new and innovative ways to provide them key information on the latest in education and education technology. In recent years, ISTE has added ebooks and short reference guides to its publishing offerings. Ebooks provide portability and easy storage, while ISTE’s growing line of Jump Start Guides (a 6-page laminated reference tool) provide quick access and tips on key topics.

ISTE audiobooks are available on ISTE.org, on Amazon/Audible and through other audiobook resellers and libraries.
